I am 65 years old and because of arthritis am no longer able to lift
melamine panels up onto the table saw-- and cutting sheet goods has been
problematic for me for over 30 years. I compared brands at the Las Vegas
show last summer, studied out the various features and prices, and----
I can't tell you how delighted I am with the design, the finish, and the
accuracy of my SawTrax panel saw. But equally important I can cut up 3/4"
melamine sheets with ease. I move the sheet goods across the floor on a
dollie, then only briefly have to lift them into place. The unit is so
versital that several of my older tools are now unnecessary.
Thank you for:
1. outstanding customer service
2. a product which performs as advertised, both the circular saw and the
router plate.
It is so fun to (with little effort) place a sheet on the SawTrax and know
that my cuts will be right on, and inexpensive blades seem to cut about as
well at the Forrest "Duraline" which I purchased.
3. The mid-fence is a must for crosscutting small pieces.
I have found it beneficial to have a small home made support at either end
of the saw so that I can first lift the end of the material onto that
support and thus not load the rollers with all that weight. Then I simply
lower the panel onto the rollers.
Also, when I am concerned that my material might move slightly while being
sawed or routed, I simply clamp it in place---the SawTrax frame provides
unlimited places to anchor the material or to place a temporary stop when
duplicating cuts.
I enclosed the small area behind the rear center of the frame with sheet
metal and attached a dust collection hookup. Someday I may upgrade to the
unit which, as you say, "really sucks."
